Overview
Low refrigerant pressure is one of the common reasons an AC stops cooling properly. In Dubai, this issue should not be ignored because the system may run longer, cool worse and still fail to reach the set temperature.
Low pressure can also point to a leak, not just a need for gas refill.
Weak cooling
The first sign is usually poor cooling.
• Warm air from the unit
• Room cools too slowly
• AC runs longer than usual
• Cooling becomes unstable
Gas refill does not last
If the AC needs gas refill again and again, the real issue may be a leak.
• Cooling improves only for a short time
• Pressure drops again
• Refill becomes repeated
• Leak detection may be needed
Higher system load
When refrigerant pressure is wrong, the AC may work harder without cooling properly.
• Longer running time
• More strain on components
• Higher electricity use
• More risk of breakdown
Possible leakage
Refrigerant loss should be checked carefully. A simple refill may not solve the problem.
• Visible oil marks
• Weak cooling after refill
• Pressure drop during test
• Repair may be required before refill
When to call an engineer
Call an engineer if cooling is weak, gas refill does not last or the system keeps losing performance.
• Weak cooling
• Repeated refill
• Water leakage
• Noise
• AC stops cooling
How Denair can help
Denair checks cooling performance, pressure, visible condition and possible leak signs before recommending gas refill or repair. If the system needs R410A or R32 refill, leak detection or component repair, the technician explains the next step before work starts.
